The King of Rock

Danstock was an amazing success.  There was so much love and great music filling up the air; it was overwhelming.  The best part, Dan made it to the show.  Without question, this was one of the greatest nights that we could ever hope to be a part of.  We love you, Danny.  Thank you for everything.

DANSTOCK

It just doesn't get more important than this one.

Our friend, Dan Stock, who recorded "End Of An Era", has been in a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Come out to Lincoln Hall on February 7th to celebrate his incredible life and help raise money in his honor towards a great cause.  We open the show up at 8pm.

Here's the event link on Facebook...come out and support!

Fuck those Mayans!

We have some hot song ideas ready to roll...it looks like we'll be getting together and ripping them up this winter.  Hopefully this means we will have a new album out sometime in the summer of 2013...of course, this completely depends upon whether or not those Mayans were completely full of shit.

Our debut album "End of an Era" is available for the "name your price" method over at Bandcamp.  Or, if trust issues are your thing, it is also available on everyone's favorite music industry killer, iTunes!  Download it, rate it, summon your inner Ben Fong Torres and post a review.

End of an Era

End of an Era was released over the winter of 2010/2011.  It consists of nine tracks that were recorded live on June 26th and 27th of 2010 by Dan Stock over at Uptown Recording in Chicago, IL.

Here's some recent ink about the album:

"Let’s be thankful there are still bands making this sort of uncontrived anthem, slow building tunes full of heart and song craft." -NBT INDEPENDENT MUSIC

"Much of Carta Marina's material sets a distinct mood with an atmospheric, nighttime ocean-side feel. This particular element of the music is probably their strongest suit and something that sets them apart most from the typical indie rock sound. It's easy to drift away into the album's most ambient moments." -WINDY CITY ROCK

"Anthemic, spacey, touching, and at times, raw, are just some of the ways their collective sound could be described; along with many more adjectives. But I’ll leave that to each individual set of ears who has the pleasure of listening to their album "End of an Era". -THE BEAT-PLAY EXPERIMENT
